I’ve constantly amazed myself at the amount of content I’ve created since I start this blog and other websites. To date, I think I’ve created almost 300 articles for a variety of niches for all these sites. This is something that’s happening for me mainly because I find it difficult to get people to write good material for me and also I kind of like producing my own work.

But do I really like writing? NO.

I don’t hate it but I don’t dislike writing either. The main reason is because writing them takes quite a bit of my time and I hate doing my research before publishing them as content material for some of my sites (I always strive to produce good content). Although I’ve not exactly slowed down, I’ve come to realize that the hundreds of hours putting into writing content can be reused again and again for other purposes. I don’t necessarily have to rewrite them all over again. I’m sure you’ve heard of this… repurposing content. I know they are some content purists who are against this idea but please I don’t have all the time in the world to write new content again!

These are some ways that I think you should do if you are on the same boat as me – if you are sick and tired of creating content.

As some of you might already know, sourcing products online that are cheap and at affordable wholesale prices can be a real pain in the bum. For the average person, the whole process is an endless search on search engines that will hopefully end up with a good supplier. More often than not searching for wholesale liquidators, suppliers or distributors can be a really disappointing waste of time because it’s either you fall into the trap of finding a supplier who cheated you or are just not legitimate suppliers. It is also good to know that a lot of suppliers are middleman and not actual wholesalers.

In my previous 2 posts, I’ve talked about starting an online store and choosing the right E-commerce services to help you get started. But without having something to sell, it’s also a waste of time. If setting up an online store appeals to you, I highly suggest that you start looking for a directory that will help smoothen and ease the entire process.

To date, there are only 2 directories online I trust to get you the supplies you need. One is Worldwide Brands and the other is Salehoo. Doba is not as reliable as Salehoo and WWB in terms of getting legitimate suppliers.

The difference between Worldwide Brands and Salehoo is that the former has a massive database of worldwide suppliers for just about anything. Salehoo comes in a close second but don’t underestimate what Salehoo can offer for your online store business. WWB is also more expensive to join than Salehoo.

KISS Principle of Landing Page Design

Fancy designs and flash animated sites with lots of flying banners and stunning graphics may look visually appealing but they only entertain you and only serve as a distraction. Having all this on a landing page is a really bad idea simply because with all the fancy fluff going on in the background, your visitors may just simply lose sight of what she/he intended to do in the beginning.

After managing a couple of sites, I’ve realized that almost 90% of the time people appreciate sites with simple designs much more than sites which look appealing visually. This is even more important when it comes to landing pages since visitors drop by with a single objective which I believe is true across the board. That objective is to “search for a solution to a problem”.

Therefore all landing pages should be tailored towards meeting that objective. This is what I think should be done. Let’s assuming we are designing a theoretical pregnancy nutrition landing page.

Have you ever thought of running an online store yourself? It’s certainly one way you can make a living online like Steve who runs a blog at his site called “My Wife Quit Her Job”. But before I spilled too much about what he does, I’ll let him do the talking.

My name is Steve and I run a blog about entrepreneurship and how to open an online store at MyWifeQuitHerJob.com. I also run an online store selling wedding handkerchiefs, linen napkins and linen towels with my wife. Finally, I recently launched a full blown course that teaches others how to create a profitable online store as well.

My wife and I first got started in ecommerce because we needed a way to supplant my wife’s six figure salary so she could quit her job and stay at home with the kids. Sure, we probably could have gotten by on just my salary, but the cost of living is extremely high where we live so we really needed to earn some extra money or make drastic cutbacks in our lifestyle..

So, our online store was born in 2007. While business was slow initially, we managed to earn over 100K in our first year of business. And ever since, our business has grown in the double and triple digits every year. When my friends heard about our success, they started asking me questions about how we did it and I found myself repeating myself over and over.
