What!!!! Fail English Test

Now it has occured to me that one of the most unbelievable failures of my life would be to fail an English Test. I do not know why had this predicament suddenly happen to me and it has some pretty serious repercussions and that is... to attend an English Class which is starting next week on Monday at 10.30am in uni which could have been used to do other things which would be more beneficial to me instead. As preposterous as this may sound, I still have to grapple with the situation, and the reason for this failure still eludes me. Probably there will be a discussion on this but I DON'T CARE... YOU STUPID ASSHOLES HOW THE SHIT COULD YOU FAIL MY PAPER!!

SO you see I have my vulgar site too and it doesn't surface until there is a provoking stimulus.

2 Days before.....

I was walking across IMU on the ground floor and what I had in mind was to xerox my PBL assignment. And then it occured to me that were so many people at the xerox room. So I waited and queued up and the line is considerably long judging by the time of the day and it's a FRIDAY.... I mean c'mon. Anyway, I didn't care much about it so I waited..

Few minutes later...

Jian Ern came in and was mentioning that he was one of the ones who failed and had to attend English Classes. So I jumped into the conversation and the dialogue goes like this..

Jian Ern: A lot of people kena you know...I think got about 30 something
Me: Wah...so many ah..Who else kena?? ( However, I know I wouldn't fail so I continued the discussion.)

Jian Ern: Er.... Yeang wee, Gordon, Rahul also kena and also David Lim
Me: Then I said wahhhh...y like dat wan?? How come they both kena one ( Still I know I wouldn't fail it but I continued.)

Jian Ern: YA lor I also dunno why..

Then Later...

Hendrick: Me also kena la... Crappy man
Me: Really..
Hendrick: Ya la...eh you also kena. You're Bryan Wong rite??
Me: Ya...Serious??? ( Now with much apprehension, I tried to continue the conversation but I still couldn't believe him.)
Jian Ern: Eh...ya I think I saw your name up on the list..

I was like OH shit...... And judging from the demeanour of both of them, I was certain they had not devise a ploy to fool me. But then I continued just to confirm

Me: You bluffing me..
Hendrick: No..really...serious

From the tone, I was pretty certain then I was "shortlisted" for the classes.

Great..So after abandoning the idea of xeroxing my stuff, I left and went up and was still crossing my fingers to see if the list was for real. And shit it was....MY name was clearly spelled there second from top and with the correct ID and there were lots of people crowding the area and a familiar sound came from behind...

Anita: Bryan, I heard the news....

As if to rub it in... then i said

Me: YA la...screwed right
Anita: What happen to you la?? what did you write for your essay??
Me: I write everything to point and I thought I did well

Then Iggy came along, and saw my name and he burst into laughter....

Shit..again I'm screwwed and doom and speaking of attention, I think I prove my point now...

Entering into the audi, was as usual some jaded faces moving along up and down. And then as I move up I saw my friends. Then when they heard my voice, they turn behind and said, "Bryan!!" faces tun, eyes everywhere suddenly focusing on me. It like one of those scenes in anime where the character suddenly shrinks out of embarassment or out of fear."What Happen!!" " and you fail your english test" " what did you do la??" " How could you fail?!" Then Veehan added..

Veehan: Speaking of unwanted attention, you really got it.

Yeap, I do agree. And as the days goes by especially during the lecture. I was still trying to come to terms with the situation I am in. Iggy was beside me constantly encouraging me saying "How could this happen oh... RAhul kena, David kena, Darren kena and YOU kena... must be some mistake"

But that's over. I think I've already vent out enough frustration and anger about the whole matter and probably it's somehow a good thing to happen anyway, although I still can't figure out which part of it is good...... So for the last time SHIT!!!!

NEWSFLASH!!!

Arsenal vs Juventus
2-0

Fabregas scores......

I can't believe myself actually getting excited about Arsenal's achievements recently but they are the only English Team left in the Champions League but then again the irony is most of the players are non English save for one dude who happens to be recoveirng from injury, Ashley Cole.

Highlights of the match:

  • Francesc Fabregas scores 1st goal on the 40th minute
  • Thierry Henry scores 2nd goal on the 70th minute
And the best news
  • 2 fellas from the opposoing side fell victim to the red card...so good luck JUventus in your 2nd leg meet with Arsenal.

The Ball

When someone talks about a ball, it can refer to many things. However, as many as it can be mentioned about a ball, generally it can mean you are talking about a specific sport, a ball which is the more elegant way of saying prom(sort of like a promotion from those high school days) or in the horny sense of which those who read this should know what I mean. Here, I am referring to the "middle ball" meaning.

As for girls, they will spent days and splash big bucks just to look good. It would be like....

Hmm.... What am I going to wear??

OR

Aha...How bout this gown....NO... How bout this beautiful dress??...

Then there will look at the price and though they may need to pay an exorbitant amount of money for the particular clothes they like, most girls would not bother. Some think that it's a ball, I want to look good and I think this dress/gown/whatever...(my fashion lingo is quite limited) suits best in me. Of course, the definition of the word exorbitant varies widely among members of the female population especially amongst fashion afficionados.

Differences between male and female(abridged version)

"In summary, the female animal, with or without ovaries, shows no significant difference in the thickness of her right and left cerebral cortices except in part of the visual cortex where those without ovaries develop right dominance. Other researchers have reported that two major connecting fiber tracts between the two hemispheres are larger in females than in males, a finding that supports the notion that the female exhibits symmetrical cortical patterns. What might be the advantage of such symmetry in cortical morphology?

For the female animal, the main functions in life are to bear, protect and raise her offspring. These roles challenge her to go in many directions, both geographical and conceptual, something that may be more accessible and readily achieved with a symmetrical brain. We might conjecture that the trend to right dominance in the older brain of the female without ovarian hormones suggests a shift to the more visual focus demanded of the male.

In summary, the male cerebral cortex displays both symmetrical and nonsymmetrical right/left patterns in cortical thickness with the nonsymmetrical pattern being slightly more anatomically frequent (60%). and in turn suggesting functionally more frequent. What might be the advantage of having some cortical areas asymmetrical in the male? In general, male behavior involves finding and defending his territory and finding his female, all rather focused functions, possibly benefiting from an asymmetrical cortex."

It seems wired into their genes that girls like to shop based on the popular theory that females are "the gatherers" as in the Stone Age era and guys "the hunters" so you see guys usually instinctively find what they want, grab it and in the modern world, pay for it unlike girls who spend hours entering from one shop to another and still find much enthusiasm to gossip over petty matters in Starbucks. And here is where you see a fine line dividing the species, girls will be busy scouring over clothes, while guys sit outside and wait for their ladies or their mothers....

As for me, it depends on my spending power. For me to attend a ball, a suit, or a tuxedo with dark coloured slacks will be find for me and of course a tie which will give a good contrasting effect to the entire combination. Probably, cufflings would be a nice accessory or even a tie clip. MOST guys end up dressing like this except for the subculture group meterosexuals. I would have probably say this because I have not attended many balls. So it doesn't matter or maybe I haven't got bored of how the way I look.

What I truly desire is a date. Yeap...Might sound too cliche but as for me I think I need someone to really brighten up the night. Not just any girl but a special girl, I'm not sure whether I've seen her or talk to her. Whatever, it is I just leave it to God, cause only He knows best.

American Idol Top 3

It is very ordinary for someone to have a preference for something, be it food, people, leaders or idols. OK cut the phiosophical part and as for The American Idol 2006, my personal top 3 would be

  1. Chris Daughtry
  2. Mandissa
  3. Katherine McPhee
Yes, and I think the most beautiful of all would be Katherine. I think she also has the talent and the musicality and her voice is the best among all the babes there safe for Mandissa, whose voice is only comparable to those black gospel singers with their huge bodies and naturally... huge lungs, and that is why their voices can reach seemingly impossible high notes and yes ..dragging the notes for also seemingly impossible long times. ANd for the latter its quite undoable for small or medium sized built people. I think of all the famous singers out there, Mariah Carey is comparable to her but it remains to be seen how Mandissa can reach the height of success like Mariah....OH yess.... the diva can already be seen in her(Mandissa) but it only depends on her ability to be one of those great artists, some one that would be a legend and go down in history and worshipped as one of those singing goddess. HAHA..

OOh the reason I wrote this is for Katherine McPhee.... and only Katherine. u know wat.... I thought she was 21 and then she just turn 22 recently......AAArgghh(U know wat I mean) Anyway, it doesn't matter. I think she sang well and that song suits her Her voice and her expression blended in with the style of the music and i would give her an 8.5/10 for her performance. I think this performance was much better than the week she did with Stevie Wonder. Hmmm.... I still wonder what style of music suits her, her jazz rendition of Barry Manilow was pretty good and she is quite consistent with her performance if you watch American Idol since Top 24, Well, maybe there was a week or two where she din perform as expected.

Stevie Wonder's songs are not easy to sing and his distinctive style quite sets himself from the rest of the singers around his time safe for a few. And the fact that he's blind humbles most other musicians where I'm sure with 5 senses, they ought to do better. A true living legend.

As for the lovely and talented Katharine McPhee, Good Luck on being the next American Idol!!!

Jammin in church

Not exactly, jammin in church but nearly similar to what I am actually doing, playing for church. Just trying to spice the title. Since this is season of Lent, the song choice wasnt the type where you can jump and stretch out your hands. Something more solemn, more prayer like and slow. Of course, there are many ways to praise God, not every song should be jumping and praising where every single teen would go mad and seriously I wander how many who actually do that actually mean praising God or perhaps their gyrating movements(ok thats n exaggeration) is a reflection of the mood of the music.

Sang 5 songs, 1 entrance, 1 offertory. 2 communion and 1 recessional hymn. The last song is Freely Freely. See... even the last song isn't the typical clap and lively music that we at
lifemass is so accustomed to. All for the season of Lent. The response from our Lifeline music ministry is boring and slow man....LIke JAnice says:" Aiyo this song so slow la " even during practise she wanted to song to end as fast as possible. Though, this wasn't our very best performance throughout the times we had played, IT's NOT BAD, though. Man I really Love our performance last month. IT was really good. The fact that my aunt sms to congratulate me supported my opinion.

Yeah and thank goodness, my choir practises had been paying off. See.... Jeff had been trying to finish our very last minute practise so that he can practise his psalm which was also last minute. OK, so we finish then I thought he was about to show me his psalm .... but then he showed me Pater Noster which was actually latin for "Our Father" Then I started sinigning the tune, and then he said to me

Jeff: You know how to sing this song??
Me: Yeap
Jeff: Are you in the Easter Choir
Me: Then I said, yah I'm in the Good Friday and the Easter Vigil mass choir

and he was like

Jeff: ....SAY SO LA!!!!....Haiyo

Then Janice and ALex was like affirning what he just said and then later on in Youth Center, Adrian came in and told me , " Hei I saw you singing in the Easter Choir...very nice...." Then Jeff told him that I know Pater Noster. I was like wow.... NOw I get to teach people something that I have Learn, great stuff...And mind you That Latin version is not easy to sing. Mind you, when I first started, I was like struggling to make sense of how the tune goes. Finally after all the Thursday and Sunday practise with the playful + humorous + strict conductor also piano teacher ( who seems to have a rather interesting approach to conducting), it payed off. Now I must make sure that every syllable in LATIN is enunciated properly and correctly, hahahha to further impress them and sound like one of those Vatican Choir who sand for Pope John Paul II funeral.

Here is Pater Noster

Pater noster, qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra,
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem:
sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

After dat, went to some makan makan at Gasing, together with Patrick, Jeffrey our boss and Janice. The food was pretty decent, not top notch but palatable and Jeff treated us, ok that was based on the assumption that he din asked from us to pay him back despite not telling us whether we need to pay him or not. It was good fellowship though and we talked basically on everything from good places to eat, presents for birthday(---> MP3 PLAYER hehehe, i want that too ) and also on American Idol and gospel singers and mp3 cds for us... Hooray, but we need to give him 2 cds. Sigh.... Anyway, its a sign that we put a little bit of effort in acquiring them.

And that was basically how I spent nearly half a day outside in church and with my friends.

Joke of the day:

What do you call a man who is in heaven? An Angel... What do you call when you see a lot of man in heaven? A host of angels... What happens when all the men are in heaven? Peace on Earth
HAHA

What F1??

You know what?? I just couldn' care less what is going on in the Formula One world. I don't even know when race is until I notice some ads around telling people.. Hey People Formula One is in town and go buy tickets and more tickets and blah blah blah. You hear them on HItz m, newspapers and what else Internet. OK for the latter that is if you surf to some race related sites.

As or me, I dunno what the heck is the buzz all about I'm not a fan of Formula One and I don't care what changes they have made be it the rules, the car engine, who are the drivers....??God knows had been switching all over the places,

Since I don't follow Formula One I dunno who has gone to who now..WHATEVER but despite all this, strangely I do support one team, and no it is not the Ferrari, nop not Renault AND drum rolllll................ It's Mclaren Strangely enuf.

Logically if someone supports a team or is a fan of somethin, be it football, or basketball or badminton or racing, your mind just tells you, hey whos dat dude there juggling with the ball and whos racing for that team, is he good??

OK so if you get my point. I do know who race for Mclaren and those red shits should start losing from now onwards and pls Michael "Shoemaker" pls pls just retire and do something else. I admit you are good handling all those turns with the G forces pressing on your chest, racing strategy and as for your brother just grab the glory from him then on
but wait.... not too much so that David Coulthard and Kimi can bask themselves in glory as it once was in those days forlorn. I'm beginning to sound like a poet...

Once again, it's formula one season and I don't care where they go next, what happens to their sponsors, research and blah blah blah. McClaren must dominate as in DotA, quote:

Mclaren is Dominating...... Somebody Stop Them!!

UNi... starting again...

OH well after an extremely long break from holiday(by far the longest holiday in my entire schooling life), life is starting again and though I use to loathe going to do all the usual routine stuff throughout the past 1 year, I am strangely enuf feeling the need to compensate this feeling by starting the semester again; - enduring the lectures, which can be painfully draggy and boring sometimes, CSU sessions which are quite fulfilling and intimidating sometimes especially if the half black half white nigerian dude starts blasting us with sarcasm and his not so funny jokes (too intellectual actually), and also quote

"About 80% of the medical students in this building have a poor grasp on anatomy"

and his all so famous anatomy question, bet nearly all students who had him as a CSU faci.. would have been asked about this.

"Tell me what is the atlantooccipital and the atlantoaxial joint and its function."

of course, those unfortunate souls would be scurrying and poring over anatomy text books to find the answer... and to date I've been asked the same damn question 3 freaking times..OH YESS, i know what it does and its function. Does that mean that my anatomy is a notch better than others in IMU??

And starting the semester would be lectures on endocrinology and the lecture hours are just plain ridiculous. Experienced it during cardio and now endo...what the heck is going on...??I wander why would those dumb heads put classes in the late hours of the evening coupled with the renovation works going on upstairs , the result would be catastrophic and if there would be a mathematical formula for it it would be hmm...guess I need the Numb3rs dude ere.. It is like there are trying to torture us with the beautiful music of machinery and clanking of heavy tools and bashing of stones. so wish i could just bash their heads with a hammer and drill some sense into those tin heads...EESH

getting angry.......chilll......cool down....

I sure hope the product of these tormenting would yield results that would be greatly appreciated by the inhabitants of IMU. Anywayzz won't be there to savour the moment cause phase 1 would be done and phase 2 would be halfway. Hopefully the "beginning of these year" would be good and full of experience for me and with all the holiday stuff that I learn, a different person with more confidence and poise will emerge to continue this journey. God Help Me

Some hearts

Just kinda feeling in love with Carrie Underwood new album...Ill give it a 4/5 . This is the lyrics for" Some Hearts". It's not the best song though but just wanted to post something from her album.

"Some Hearts"

I've never been the kind that you'd call lucky
Always stumbling' around in circles
But I must have stumbled into something
Look at me
Am I really alone with you
I wake up feeling like my life's worth living
Can't recall when I last felt that way
Guess it must be all this love you're giving
Never knew never knew it could be like this
But I guess

Some hearts
They just get all the right breaks
Some hearts have the stars on their side
Some hearts,
They just have it so easy
Some hearts just get lucky sometimes
Some hearts just get lucky, lucky sometimes

Now who'd have thought someone like you could love me
You're the last thing my heart expected
Who'd have thought I'd ever find somebody
Someone who someone who makes me feel like this
Well I guess

Some hearts
They just get all the right breaks
Some hearts have the stars on their side, yes
Some hearts, They just have it so easy
Some hearts just get lucky sometimes

Some hearts,
They just get all the right breaks
Some hearts have the stars on their side
Some hearts,
They just have it so easy
Some hearts just get lucky sometimes
Some hearts just get lucky sometimes...

Hmmm... Hopefully I would find that special someone just like the scenario depicted in the lyrics.

Music......

The beautiful melodies sing
Harmonies drift across the air
Carried along by the wind
Trees sway and leaves rustle

The ever changing rhythm of nature
Like a troupe of dancers
Resonates and echoes across the landscape
Transforms the lifeless surrounding

A ray of light emerges
Between the clouds above
Together in synergy with the music
Brings forth a refreshing energy

Getting in touch with God

Being a Catholic for all my life since the day I was born hasn't make me a better Catholic. I guess this opinion is shared by most of my Catholic buddies out there except for those exceptionally pious and religiously devoted individuals. Sad to say among Catholics, they hasn't been many and the problem later results in a significant decrease in the number of people joining the religious order...

So meaning less priests, nuns and brothers. And nearly every week. Father Simon or FAther OC would be alternating speeches on the issue of the younger ones joining the religious order. Obviously, the response has been lukewarm. I guess one of their prayers would be..."Please God, I pray for more Catholics joining the religious order...priests, nun , brothers ...and such". Ok....MAYBE the concise version but its just to illustrate a point here. As for me, if there was any sign of any calling would be to at most join the music ministry...Dat also depends on many influencing factors, (OK THIS SOUNDS LIKE SOME FACTUAL ESSAY). Well, anyway It would be because I insist in myself to join it..Ok maybe the insistence is the calling...God silently or subconsciously seeding me thoughts of playing in church.. To me, it's good. COS for one, music has always been part of me. IF somehow I just screwed medicine, den Music would be the next choice. and Who knows, MAybe I'll be a singer, or a producer, ....ok i f i continue...I will begin to fantasize.

Basically, that is as far as it goes, music, nothing more. And besides, I want to get married. NO doubt about that. Though, Ive NEVER had a girlfriend in my entire life, still single and available, I had never once left the thought of starting a family or share my life with my "intimate other half".

Sometimes I have this conversation with myself...asking whether is it the changing world that is actually causing this drought of priests and nuns. It seems that the world is not encouraging the spiritual development of the younger peoeple. The media is conatantly bombarding sublimal messages telling us to be someone elsE whom we are not.....SLIMMING PROGRAMMES, POPULAR AND HAPPENING, SINGERS( as though everyone can sing ), RICH and APPEARANCE. Hence, the birth of reality shows, slimming centres, claiming to take the flab off your waist and thighs and whatever using revolutionary techniques, I wander how revolutionary is it sometimes...?? except for the Snatch-thief Smasher who slimmed half her weight down who looks exeptionally unbelievably slimmer...Even I can't recognize that the slim lady was actually once the 100kg+ girl who did the noble act of sleeping on the snatch thief dude. Well at least she can tell herself that she did something good when she was bigger and heavier. Getting back... Beauty is now considered a bonus and u have beauty, it could bring you places that you have never thought possible.... Like getting to a top positon in a company, sadly... wasting all the good brains sitting lower in the hierachy of posts who will be sneering at the unfairness of life.

There you go...all those above would have taken precedence instead of the religious life. Just that day, Father Simon came back from a retreat... and most priest were away for 2 weeks. He then mention, if the retreat was bombed or there was unfortunately a terrorist attack there, then all 120+ priests would have perished....and all churches in the peninsular malaysia would be "fatherless" and the sheeps will be lost...so I think that send some sort of urgency to the congregation that THE CHURCH NEEDS MORE PRIESTS.....

Looking at my church congregation also reflects on how mundane and boring church masses have been for them. All of them looking pretty jaded at the routine going-ons in the church...drooped faces, sleepy eyes, some yawnings. They would have probably perceive mass as a weekly obligation of which I'm sure most Catholics would be guilty of including myself. If I were to rate myself on the "Devotion to God" scale if there was such a thing...I would give myself a 3 out of 10. I guess God will agree with me. YEA RIGHT SON....YOU DESERVE IT...I wander whether God is saying this
