The IPOD speculation

NOW.... i do not know why people would want to talk about such petty things about how IPOD nano sales are doing...blah blah blah and why is it not selling more than ecpected. It seems as though small issues means big news. I guess thats what makes the world go round, seemingly trivial matters becomes the topic of discussion, and then rumour mongers will then cock up some CRAP story...and spread it over the place and well u can actually see this effectively happpening especially when talking about entertainment and technology, one of those areas where you will find people talking most about this days. (well i'm not so sure about the latter but pretty sure of the former)

Anyway, the point is, how can you determine the performance of a new product when it has just been recently launched into the market. If one were to think analytically, the lack of sales may be due to the place where there are selling the IPOD Nano, unattractive, unwelcoming location or maybe unfriendly people... Well all this could be the factor. NOw you might ask how do i know this, check out this website Engadget.. It has the most, to my opinion the world's most updated information on new gadgets, technology and well....anything to do with computers, i guess..

Now over there, you will find, tow papers, one form The enquirer and one from the The Register... I don't know how reliable are their source of information but the news is obviously conflicting and yes.... there said that one is selling good and one is selling bad AND ONE WEEK ISN'T THE TIME TO MAKE JUDGEMENT THE QUANTITY OF SALES OF A NEW PRODUCT, even if it is something as ubiquitous as IPOD.

HOW RIDICULOUS!!!!

THE NEW IPOD

Just as you begin to wander when will ipod begin to drop in sales which seems very unlikely even in the unforeseeable future, there decide to come out with an even smaller version of IPOD...the IPOD Nano..Man even the name sounds cool, what about the look of it.

Well i don't know when exactly did they introduced it until i stumble into the website today. I don't expect myself to be much surprised on the content of their website except for the new Quicktime 7 and the recently introduce Apple mouse, in which the latter i could never use it unless i change my entire system to MAC..

OK i'm deviating from the subject, ok the Ipod nano is very thin and small.. I wander where in the world those engineers manage to squeeze in 1000 songs into that thin space. And honestly speaking the Ipod Nano looks pretty slick to me, pretty tempting at first sight. In fact i prefer this newer nano than the Ipod Mini. Based on the capacity and the little difference in dimensions, i prefer to go for the 20GB Ipod. But now when they came out with it, i said hmmm..ok i m gonna get this, thought the 4gb is slightly cheaper then the 20gb.

For those who happen to stumble on this blog, the specs of this new Ipod can be found on their website, well this is the brief list( actually the more relevant ones, so to speak)

# Holds up to 1,000 songs and full-color album art

# Only 3.5 x 1.6 x 0.27 inches and 1.5 ounces

# Up to 14 hours of battery life(1)

# Bright 1.5-inch color LCD display

Now if someone were to compare other mp3 player with the ubiquitous IPOD, I say that Ipod players are far more appealing to the people in general, primarily because there started the market for Mp3 players. I say Creative is fighting a losing battle to gain the upper hand form Apple Ipod. Fine, there came out with Zen Micro, and the Zen Neon, but so what, popularity with the Ipod definitely gave it the advantage over creative thought the functionality is almost the same, and the design, well except for the Zen Neon, does not offer much difference from the Ipod series. And personally i find the buttons too small to handle and the slick rotary dial wheels on the Apple Ipod, Ipod mini and the Ipod Nano, my preference.

So i say Creative GET LOST!! and go back to making great sound cards for the rest of your corporate life...

Amazing Hurricane Story

As i was surfing around today on the net, i come across an article of this amazinf survival story of a six year-old kid leading a bunch of other smaller children which includes a BABY!!...WOHHH. to safety. Check it out

"In the chaos that was Causeway Boulevard in New Orleans last Thursday, one group of survivors stood out: a 6-year-old boy walking down the road, holding a 5-month-old, surrounded by five toddlers who followed him around as if he were their leader.

They were holding hands. Three of the children were about two years old, and one was wearing only diapers. A three-year-old girl, who wore colorful barrettes on the ends of her braids, had her 14-month-old brother in tow. The 6-year-old spoke for all of them, and he told rescuers his name was Deamonte Love."

Now a six year old kid leading six kids...??? Now this is some story

And the amazing thing is that everyone of them is ok, except for the 5 month old baby...

"This baby child was terrified," he said. "After she relaxed, it was gobble, gobble, gobble."

And their names....

At 3 p.m. Sunday, DSS workers said good-bye to seven children who now had names: Deamonte Love; Darynael Love; Zoria Love and her brother Tyreek. The girl who cried "Gabby!" was Gabrielle Janae Alexander. The girl they called Peanut was Degahney Carter. And the boy whom they called G was actually Lee -- Leewood Moore Jr.

electives

Here comes the part where i will scratch my head and gaze into the deep blue sky and ponder about my thoughts and extract within the deepest facets of my mind, to search for an answer to my predicament, the search for a happening elective, one that i do not need to pay so extravagantly (which i did in the previous one and was really fun,...seriously not regretting one bit of it at all) and would be fantastic....

Now after this crappy intro...i think i should be joining the STOMP team. Ok whoever who woul happen to read this might be thinking, ok this dude ere will never have a chance in the world to follow them, or even join them.. Ok i think that the STOMP team is one really happening group WHY?? cos in my opinion i think there are creative and unique because have you thought of making music out of trash huh?? hitting on tins and trash and cans and stuff... i'm pretty sure the guy behind all this must be so happy that it's quite a phenomenon around the world..

Then what would be the purpose of joining them, to hit bins and cans after the elective...hmmm ... i think it will be more like learning how to make music from seemingly bizarre ways but works out well. probably a whole new type of music... Sounds pretty hollow, well i haven given much thought into it actually..

wat am i to write???

ok..actually it's not because i have nothing to write. ok i have began to wonder whether this blogging site has any sort of enchantment. I guess not other than the usual crap that people put there.

To come to think of it a lot has been happening for the past few weeks and there is an increase in oil price and thanks to the Hurricane Kathrina, it further increases the price of petrol up to like USD71 a barrel, can u believe it that Americans pay up to USD4( now almost USD6 ) for a litre of petrol( there call it gasoline ). That is about RM15 a litre here..OMG.. We should thank our lucky stars that people living in this part of the world have the benefit of oil reseverves and government subsidy, making it more affordable for everyone here to use. Can't imagine pumping 35 litres of petrol into my car at that price of RM15 a litre,

So conclusion, Malaysians should stop complaining about the rising oil prices, and start thinking about how lucky we are and how we could in return help to drive the nation's economy. Actually the increase in oil prices is a boon to

Hurricane "katrina" making headlines all around the world, It's kind of ironic that a nation so powerful and so developed could have problems handling the catastrophe happening right in their country. I mean, what are the people and the leaders doing there. Aren't there suppose to mobilise aid, shelter and medical attention in the fastest and the most efficient time possible. It seems to me that what those people are experiencing now, is not very much different than people who live along the coastlines when the tsunami hit the shores on DEC 26 2004. Then comes another question, why did there build a city in the middle of a river and a lake. Are the people there taking a calculated risk or are there just trying to prove that no disaster could inundate the city and even if it had, the levees could still hold..lol. and the only supposedly barrier which is suppose to prevent flooding failed..Don't underestimate nature's wrath
